best gift for my mom on mother's day

Truly, purchasing Mom a cover may appear to be a smidgen also Leave It to Beaver, yet the preposterously comfortable Rough Linen Pinafore is useful for any individual who invests energy in the kitchen—paying little heed to the amount they cook. (Indeed, even somebody who's simply "administering" dangers being splattered.) A square shape of texture with two lashes and large pockets, the Rough Linen Pinafore looks less "snobby cover" and then some "diletantish coverall," however it's quite very much structured. It's free in quite a few spots, yet it won't slip around as your mother moves. When testing the cover, we additionally preferred the two monster hip pockets, which can fit everything from a telephone to a meat thermometer—and even collapsed dish towels.

NYSC will soon stop allowee - Kazaure

The Director-General National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC). Brig Gen Sule Zakari Kazaure, has this afternoon appeal to all Batch A serving corp members over the delay on their November allowee payment. In his speech at NYSC headquarters Abuja, he said that; a new plan and agreement has been reach by the NYSC stakeholders to stop the payment of allowee on monthly bases, rather to pay it in bulk at the end of the service year. He further said; that the reason behind this decision, is to make corp members engage in other entrepreneurial activities that they could make money from and be independent and Carter for themselves than relying on their allowee, as was taught during their orientation program (SAED) at the camp. He therefore said that, corp members should stop expecting the alert of their monthly allowee and get to work. He further said that, the 2016 Batch B, after their orientation program, will only be paid for 5months to enable them stand or get settled at their various places o

“Adekunle Gold, Viktoh And Chinko Ekun To Leave YBNL”

Adekunle Gold, Viktoh and Chinko Ekun are leaving YBNL following the termination of their two-year recording and management contract each. Meanwhile, the musicians are still looking to Olamide as they fear for their future. ‘Adekunle Gold’s contract with YBNL recently expired. ‘He’s yet to decide on his contract renewal because he’s not ready to go unaided.’ Adekunle joined YBNL as an artiste during the first ever OLIC (Olamide Live In Concert) in December 2014. Before his major contract following the release of his hit, ‘Sade’, the singer – who designed the famous YBNL logo – used to work with the music label as a graphics designer. The contracts of Viktoh and Chinko Ekun expired long time ago, but they decided to keep the update on the low as they fear it could make or tarnish careers. Chinko Ekun was no where to be found at Olamide’s concert in Lagos on Monday, where his label mates took turns on stage to thrill the crowd. ‘Just like Chinko Ekun, both of them (Adekunle and Viktoh) d

Federal Government recovered 40 brand new SUV car stolen

The Federal Government said on Thursday that it has recovered 40 brand new SUV cars from a former permanent secretary. It said that the unnamed former permanent secretary appropriated the vehicle to himself after leaving office. It, therefore, said it would be wrong for it to be accused of fighting corruption without any clear strategy. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed,  stated this in a statement.Rather, it said it was being guided by a well-articulated strategy in its fight against corruption in the country. Mohammed said, “The strategy has proven so effective and that it has led to, among others, the recovery of 40 brand new SUVs and other vehicles from one former Permanent Secretary who single-handedly appropriated the vehicles to himself when he left office.” He said the federal government was not just fixated on prosecution alone but was also taking preventive measures to make corruption unattractive. Mohammed listed the strict enforcement of the Treas

Pork is more nutritious than red meat - Pig farmer

The Chairman, Pig Farmers Association, Delta chapter, Mr Jerry Ossai,  has called for the consumption of pork, saying it is more nutritious than red meat. Ossai on Thursday in Asaba claimed that “pork is tastier than beef and even more nutritional than all red meat.” Ossai, who is also a former Chairman of All Farmers Association of the state, said that “pork is white meat”, adding that from the nutritional point of view “white meat is better than red meat”. According to him, “pigs are the cleanest animals you can ever think about”. He said that apart from the nutritional value of the pork, “if pigs are well fed, the fat content is always very small.’’ He said, “If you give pigs good food as required, the fat content is always very low compared to some other meat.” Ossa however said that one of the major challenges facing pig farmers in the country was the inherited taboo against pig which had been associated with religion and culture that people have refused to break. “Because of this

Ademola Lookman seal deal of N5bn to Everton

English Premier League side Everton FC expect to complete a £10 million (about N5bn) deal for Charlton’s 19-year-old forward Ademola Lookman early in the January transfer window. The club’s Director of Football, Steve Walsh, has made the signing a priority. With this, the move was likely to go through quickly as manager Ronald Koeman starts what was expected to be a busy January. Lookman scored his seventh goal of the season in Charlton’s 1-0 win at MK Dons on Boxing Day. He was also linked with Crystal Palace. When asked about Lookman at his press conference on Wednesday ahead of Friday’s Premier League away match with Hull, Koeman said: “There is interest for the boy, yes.” Everton — with Walsh a key figure — are embarking on a policy of recruiting emerging young talent as well as established players. The Toffees signed teenager striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United for £1.5m in August. The England youth international has figured as a substitute against Arsenal and Live

College of Education, Oyo begin strike

The Academic Staff of Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate have begun an indefinite strike over 10 month salary arrears. The Caretaker Chairman, Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, Dr Olatunde Ogundiran,  on Monday in a communiqué, said “lecturers were last paid in March 2016.” He explained that the decision to commence the strike was taken at the expiration of an ultimatum given to the school management by its congress. Ogundiran also stated that the lecturers had since March 2016 been undergoing very serious hardship. “We have endured several months of unpaid salaries before the congress decided to go on indefinite strike. “We have had series of negotiations with the state government representatives where we appealed to the government to pay the workers but there was no positive response,” he said. He stated that the union had, before embarking on the strike, given notice to the school management and the state government but nothing was done. He also stated that members of

Blind cheat during examination

The West African Examinations Council says blind candidates also cheat during examinations. They cheat by colluding. The Head of Test Administration of WAEC in Nigeria, Mrs Frances Iweha-Onukwu, in Lagos on Wednesday said the reason could be that the candidates were usually not well equipped individually for the examinations. She added that this had been responsible for what she described as ‘not too wonderful performance’ among the blinds. She said, “We have discovered that there is usually high incidence of collusion among blind candidates during examinations. “That is why their performance has not really been anything wonderful. “Our society is such that there have not been adequate and conscious efforts to take care of the challenged. “There have not been enough trained personnel to guide blind candidates before being exposed to major external examination.” She lamented a situation where just one teacher who studied Special Education in higher institution is employed to cater for t

I love my mother-in-law more than my wife

A 22-year-old man has abandoned his wife and married Asha Devi, who happens to be her his mother in-law. Back to sender false prophecy - JJC SKILLZ

The husband of the popular actress Funke Akindele Bello has send back to the sender the false prophecy proclaim by Prophet Olagorioye Faleyimu, founder of Mountain of Blessing and Miracle Church against popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele Bello, her husband JJC Skillz has taken to Snapchat to give a cryptic response. The Prophet said the actress will remain barren in his 2017 prophecy. He said: “They need to pray like never before so as not to lose another 2 stars before the year runs out. Without special prayers, Funke Akindele won’t have a child before she dies because she is destined to be wealthy and famous but not destined to have a child and stable husband until she engages herself in the special prayer. Whosoever marries her must have another reason because the issue of not having a child will keep coming up and it will scatter the marriage. If she refuses to do the prayer, she will end up adopting a child and by that time, she will be living alone without husband. . Anoth

"Star Wars" Actress Carrie Fisher dies at 60

After decades of fast living that her fearless “Star Wars” character Princess Leia would have struggled to keep up with, Carrie Fisher died Tuesday, days after suffering a heart attack. She was 60. The American actress was enjoying a new phase in the spotlight with a tour promoting her latest headline-grabbing memoir and a reprisal of her iconic role in 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Fisher was returning from the London leg of a book tour on Friday when she collapsed 15 minutes before landing in Los Angeles, where paramedics and hospital staff were unable to revive her. “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” family spokesman Simon Halls said in a statement on behalf of Fisher’s daughter given to People magazine. Facts you need to know before MMM resumes

I have read with deep concern, the various accounts shared by many Nigerians on their sad experiences on the Mavrodi Mundial Moneybox Ponzi scheme that has created a lot of apprehension and uncertainty in the country. Because of this unfortunate development, millions of patrons of the Ponzi scheme have been thrown into confusion having placed a one-month ban on all withdrawals starting from December 13. The MMM has claimed that it had frozen the accounts to avoid preventable challenges during the Yuletide in the purported negative media reports given to the scheme. The MMM is not new in the business world. It is on record that the organisation began as an office equipment company in Moscow, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in the 1980s, before moving into the financial sector when the scheme collapsed and many investors lost their money. The MMM was able to win the hearts of many Nigerians with its ‘30 per cent per month’s return-on-investment in addition to other acquirable bonuses

Funke Akindele can't have children

A Lagos-based pastor, Olagorioye Faleyimu, has said that Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, may not have children of her own, and that she may end up with another broken home. Faleyimu advised the Nollywood star to marry a pastor who, he said, would help her fight her ‘battles.’ Perhaps in response to this unusual prophecy, Funke’s husband, JJC Skillz, has reaffirmed his love and commitment to his sweetheart of the Jenifa’s Diary fame, saying she gave him a new life. He said the 39-year-old actress came into his life when he had given up all hopes of ever having a happy family. “As you have given me peace, I pray that you will forever find peace,” he wrote in a series of Snapchat posts.” He also prayed to God to bless Funke’s marriage (to him) with children. Faleyimu had prophesied, “A popular actress in Nollywood, Funke Akindele, who was once in the Yoruba movie industry should pray deeply so as to have children. “Another grace she has is to marry a pastor who can fight the battle on

Job Interview Tactics fake Candidates Can't Handle

Three key techniques separate the fakers from the makers. 1. Ask uncomfortable questions These seven serious questions help reveal the character of the candidate. Note they aren’t cute or tricky (“If you were a tree…”). Only real-world questions uncover the data you need to make an accurate decision. Give me an example of a time when you had to do the hard thing or have a difficult conversation. Give me an example of a time when you weren’t getting along with a co-worker. How did you resolve that situation? What’s the last thing on which you and your boss disagreed? How did you settle it? Tell me about a time you dealt with an angry or frustrated customer. What are your top five professional accomplishments? (Then drill down to get specifics on each. Did the candidate drive the accomplishment or did they ride the coattails of a coworker?) What do you consider the single most important idea you contributed in your current job? At your previous job? Part of emotional maturity is acquirin

Tips of becoming a millionaire

Every year we make the same resolutions, like losing weight or to quit smoking. What about making more money? While there proven ways to make extra cash on the side , even if you have a full- time job, if those haven’t worked-out for you in years past, then consider these 10 new ideas for earning some additional money on the side. 1. Join the sharing economy. "The sharing economy is growing at an exponential rate," says Nigel Wilson, managing director at Hitwise. "Thousands of sharing economy companies have sprouted up around the world, and consumers are actively engaging in collaborative consumption. According to PwC, 44 percent of all adults in the U.S. are aware of the sharing economy and 19 percent have engaged in a sharing economy transaction. It is imperative for brands to consider how to support and participate in collaborative consumption, rather than compete against it." The sharing economy is exploding and the largest demographic in the country, millennial

A Bill Gate 2016 Secret Santa gift

A Bill Gate 2016 secret Santa gift Every year, Reddit puts on a massive Secret Santa gift exchange, and, every year, one lucky person gets Bill Gates as a Santa. And boy, is he good at it. Alicia, also known as Reddit user "Aerrix" (who describes herself as a woman who loves video games, The Legend of Zelda, The Little Mermaid, Harry Potter and Nintendo) got blown off by her Secret Santa last year. But she faithfully signed up again. And was that ever a smart move. Her first clue that the billionaire had pulled her name was that the box that arrived was huge. And he spared no expense in shipping it overnight either. Her second clue: Bill Gates wrote her a personal letter and enclosed a picture of himself with the letter, wearing a Santa hat. When you're Bill Gates and you're someone's Secret Santa, part of the fun is proving that this gift really came from you. The letter said: "I can't believe your Secret Santa left you hanging last year. To ensure you d

Doctors transplant a pig kidney to humans

Kidney If you need a kidney transplant tomorrow, chances are you will wait around three years. Even before you get transplanted, assuming you live, you will most likely spend years on dialysis. Right now there are more than 100,000 people in the US waiting for kidney transplants. Every year nearly 5,000 people will die just waiting for one. On the horizon though, is a potential source of donors that may revolutionize kidney transplantation as we know it. Best of all, it may be that we only have to go to a local farm to get one. In 1984 at Loma Linda University Medical Center an infant girl known as "Baby Fae" received the first xenotransplant, also known as non- human to human transplant. In this case, Baby Fae received a baboon heart in a last ditch effort to save her life. Sadly, Baby Fae died 21 days later. The roadblock to success with this kind of therapy in transplantation has always been how best to keep you from rejecting your new organ. This is the cornerstone of the
